Using the claims dashboard

Track how quickly claims close and catch backlog before it slips past SLA

Written by Yembo

ℹ️ The claims dashboard requires a Claims Admin role. Claims is a paid add-on. Contact your assigned Customer Success Manager to enable it.

The claims dashboard shows how a claims team is performing against its time-to-close and cost targets. It highlights whether the team is keeping pace, where claims are stalling, and which open claims need attention first. The sections below cover how to open the dashboard and read each part of it.

View the dashboard

Click Moves to open the dashboard. For Claims Admin and Admin roles, the claims dashboard appears on a secondary Claims tab.

Configure the filters

Three filters at the top of the dashboard control what the metrics include. The company dropdown sits in the top-right corner of the screen. All Companies combines every claims-enabled company the account can access, and selecting a single company limits the report to that company.

When All Companies includes companies with different currencies or claim targets, a prompt asks which company's settings to apply. That company's targets and currency then measure the entire report. The choice is saved, so the prompt does not reappear on every visit. Selecting a single company never triggers the prompt.

The period toggle sets the date range for most metrics, with options for the last 30 days, the last 90 days, and quarter to date. The Display dropdown splits claims by whether repair work was involved, since claims with repairs take much longer to close. Without Repairs is the default and covers claims with no items resolved as a repair. With Repairs covers claims with at least one item resolved as a repair, and All Claims includes both.

Review the metrics

Four tiles across the top summarize performance for the selected period. The table below outlines each tile.

Tile

What it covers

Median days to close

Shows the median number of days claims took to close, rounded to the nearest whole day. The text below shows the company's target days.

Closed within SLA

Shows the percentage of closed claims that closed within the time-to-close window. The text below shows the company's target percentage.

Average cost

Shows the average cost of claims closed in the period. The text below shows the company's target cost.

Open past SLA

Shows how many open claims have already passed the time-to-close window, out of all open claims. This tile counts every open claim regardless of when it was opened, so the period toggle does not change it.

Closed within SLA, by month

This chart tracks the percentage of claims closed within SLA for each of the last six months, including the current month to date. A second axis shows the average cost of claims closed each month, and a horizontal line marks the target percentage. The chart always shows six months, regardless of the period selected.

This chart shows the average number of days claims spent in each status. Long bars point to the stages where claims stall, such as waiting on the shipper or on a vendor.

This table groups every open claim by how close it is to its SLA due date. On track claims have more than seven days remaining. Due within 7 days claims have seven days or fewer remaining. Past SLA, under 7 days claims passed their due date less than seven days ago, and Past SLA, 7+ days claims passed it seven or more days ago. Like Open past SLA, the backlog includes all open claims and is not affected by the period filter.

This table lists the five movers with the most claims closed in the selected period, along with the average cost per claim and the number of claims for each.
