What to Expect During Your Self-Survey

You'll get an invitation by text or email from your moving company. Tap the link provided to open the survey in a supported browser, and use a smartphone or tablet for proper video recording.

Tap Next to see a brief introduction to the survey process. When you're ready, tap I'm Ready to begin.

Review your contact information and update it if needed. Once all details are correct, tap Continue.

Set your move date, if known, and select whether you or the moving company will handle packing.

The Rooms section lists default rooms. Scroll through the list and select a room to record. If needed, add a room by tapping Add Room Type.

Tap your first room and allow camera access when prompted. Allow microphone access to record audio notes, and allow motion access when prompted.

Make sure the room is well-lit, then stand in the center and slowly pan left to right. Mention important items or exclusions — things that aren't moving. The moving company will review this footage later.

You can tap Add Note to write notes about specific items.

Repeat these steps for each room in your home. Once all rooms are recorded, tap Continue.

If the moving company already has your address, it will be auto-filled. If not, enter the correct address and tap Next.

Enter access details, including parking, home entry and navigation, and the number of flights of stairs at both pickup and destination.

Select any specialty items (e.g., memory foam bed). Add more as needed.

Check your room summary. If prompted, answer any extra questions from the moving company, such as whether certain appliances are included. You'll also confirm whether you have any specialty items.

Tap Submit to finalize your survey. Don't forget to leave a rating of your experience.

The moving company will review your results and follow up on pricing and inventory.
